CASEY ANTHONY'S JAILHOUSE PHONE CALL TRANSCRIPT

It was a really emotional day in the Casey Anthony murder trial.  And the person who suffered the most was definitely Casey's mom, Cindy Anthony.  We all watched helplessly as she sobbed during the playing of the 911 tapes (see previous blog entry).  It was a very sad, sad day indeed.

PROSECUTION INTRODUCES CASEY'S JAILHOUSE PHONE CALL TO HER HOME

After the 911 tapes were played, the prosecution introduced another important audiotape - a recording of Casey's jailhouse phone call to her home on the night she was first arrested.  With this call, prosecutors showed Casey's state of mind as of July 16th, 2008 at 11:16pm.

During this call, Casey is rude to her mother, brother and friend Christina.  And unlike everyone else, Casey's main objective was to get her boyfriend's phone number.  Everyone else's main objective was to find Caylee.

CASEY ANTHONY'S JAILHOUSE PHONE CALL (TRANSCRIPT)

Preface:  This call originated from the Orlando County Correctional Center, and was a collect call from Casey to the Anthony home on Hope Spring Drive. An automated greeting requested that the receiving party (Anthony home) to press 0 to accept charges.  After hearing that the 0 was pressed, the call was put through.  Here is a transcript of the call.

CINDY: Casey?
CASEY: Mom!
CINDY: Hey sweetie.
CASEY: Well I saw your nice little cameo on TV.
CINDY: Which one?
CASEY: What do you mean which one! (Casey is angrier now)
CINDY:  Which one? I made four different ones and I don't know, and I haven't seen them all, I've seen one or two so far...
CASEY: You don't know my involvement is and stuff?
CINDY: Casey...
CASEY: Mom! No!
CINDY: Casey I don't know what your involvement is sweetheart. You're not tell me where she's at.
CASEY: Because I don't fucking know where she's at! Are you kidding me!
CINDY: Casey, don't waste your call...to scream and holler at me...
CASEY: (talking over Cindy) No!... Waste my call oh sitting here in, oh the jail where the bums are.
CINDY: Who's fault is it you're sitting in the jail. Are you blaming me that you're sitting in the jail?
CASEY: It's not my fault
CINDY: What do you mean it's not your fault sweetheart? If you had told them the truth, and not lied about everything, they wouldn't have...
CASEY: Do me a favor and just tell me what Tony's number. I don't want to talk to you. Forget it.
CINDY:  I don't have his number
CASEY: Well then get it from lee. I know he's at the house cuz I saw Mallory's car was out front.  It was just on the news, it was live out in front of the house.
CINDY: I know they were.
CASEY: Well?...well? Can you get Tony's number for me so I can call him.

Lee: Hey?...
Casey: Hey. Can you get me Tony's number.
Lee. I...uh, I can do that but I don't know what real good it's going to do ya at this point.
Casey: Well I'd like to talk to him anyway. Because I called to talk to my mother and it is a fucking waste.  Oh and by the way I don't want any of you to come up here when I have my my first hearing for bond, and everything else.  Like, don't even waste your fucking time coming up here.
Lee (getting agitated): You know, you're having a real tough, you're making it really tough for anybody to want to try to, even if it's to give you a phone number...
Casey:  It's just that every single...
Lee: You're not even letting me finish, like I'd really...
Casey says: Go ahead.
Lee: First you're asking me for Tony's phone number so you can call him and then you immediately want to start cussing towards me and saying don't even come up here and trying to cut us out
Casey: I'm not trying to cut anybody out.
Lee: I'm not going around and around with you, you know, that's pretty pointless. I'm not going to go through, not going to put everyone else through what you've been putting the police and everybody else through for the past 24 hours. And what you've put Mom through for the last 4-5 weeks.  I'm DONE with that. So, you can tell ME what's going on. Christina would like to talk to you because she thinks that you will tell her what's going on. Frankly, we're going to find out. Something, whatever is going on, it's going to be found out. So why not do it now...
Casey: There's nothing to find out. There's absolutely nothing to find out.  Not even what I told the detectives.
Lee: Well...you know...everything...
Casey interrupts: I have no clue... if I knew where Caylee was, do you think that any of this would be happening?
Lee: Anyways, you only have a couple of minutes, so I'm not going to let you waste it. Here's Christina. She thinks she can get through to you...
Casey yells at her brother: No NO! I want Tony's number!  I'm not talking to anybody else!

Christina gets on the phone: Hello?
Casey: Hi, I'm glad everybody's at my house (she says sarcastically), I'm going to have to call you later or I'll have to call somebody to get your number. Do me a favor, get my brother back, because I need Tony's number.
Christina (surprised): Ok...um... is there anything I can do for you?
Casey: I'm sitting in jail. There's nothing anybody can do for me now.
Christina: Well, I'm just trying to...
Casey: Oh, I know you are honey, I absolutely know you are and I appreciate everything you're trying to do but I'd like to call Tony.  He's not at my house, is he?
Christina: No.  It's just me and your parents and Lee.
Casey: Ok, can you do me a favor and get my brother back, or get the number from him please.
Christina (sounding confused): Um... does Tony have anything to do with Caylee?
Casey: No, Nothing.
Christina: Ok, so why do you want to talk to him?

Casey: Because he's my boyfriend and I want to actually try to talk to him, because I didn't get a chance to talk to him earlier because I was arrested on a fucking whim today. Because they're blaming me for something I never would do, that I didn't do.

Christina: Ok, well I'm on nobody's side.. I'm on your side.
Casey: Oh honey I know that. I want to talk to Tony to get a little bit of ...
Christina: Casey, you have to tell me if you know anything about Caylee...
Casey: Sweetheart...
Christina:  If anything happened to Caylee Casey, I'll die! You understand? I'll just die! (Christina starts to cry) You understand... I'll die if anything happens to that baby.

Casey (agitated now): Oh my god!  Calling you guys a fucking waste. Huge waste. Honey,  I love you. You know I would never let anything happen to my daughter. If I knew where she was, this wouldn't be going on.
Christina: Well how come everybody's saying that you're lying?
Casey: Because no one fucking listens to anything I'm saying. The media completely misconstrued everything that I said. The fucking detectives told them fucking bullshit. They got all of their informaiton from me, yet at the same time, they're twisting stuff. They've already said they're going to pin this on me if  they don't find Caylee. They've already said that. They arrested me because they said that ...
Christina: Yea, they said that the person that you dropped Caylee with doesn't exist.
Casey: Because oh look, they can't find her in the Florida database. She's not just from Florida.  If they would have actually listen to anything that I would have said to them, they would have their leads, they maybe would have tracked her down. They haven't listened to a fucking thing that I've said.
Christina: Do you know that, that, whoever has Caylee, nobody's going to get away with it. Nobody.
Casey: I know nobody's going to get away with it, but at the same time, the only way that they're going to find Caylee is if they actually listen to what I'm saying. And I'm trying to help them and they're not letting me help them.

Christina: So how can I help them find her? The best thing you can do baby...
Casey: They need to look up her information in the New York database... a North Carolina database, other places she's lived outside of Florida. That's what I told them even again TODAY!  I told them that four times today. I sat up at the police station, at the county police station...

Christina: Is she the one who has Caylee or did she give Caylee to someone else?
Casey (getting angry): Honey! I don't know! I haven't talked to her.
Christina: How come everyone's saying that you're not upset, that you're not crying? That you show no care over where Caylee is at all...
Casey: Cuz I'm not fucking crying every two seconds. Because I have to stay composed to talk to the detectives, to make other phone calls, to do other things. I can't sit here and be crying every two seconds like I want to.  I can't!
Christina: Ok Casey, don't yell at me. I'm on your side.
Casey: I know you're not... I know you're on my side.
Christina: Nobody's saying anything bad about you.  Your family is with you 100%.
Casey: No they're not! Bullshit because I just watched the fucking news and heard everything that my mom said. Nobody in my own family is on my side.
Christina: Yes they are.  Nobody has said...

Casey (interrupting):  They just want Caylee back.  That's all they're worried about right now, is getting Caylee back... and you know what... that's all I care about right now.

Christina: Casey, your daughter, your flesh and blood, your baby girl ...
Casey interrupts: Christina please, put my brother back on the phone. I don't want to get into this with you right now.  I love you honey and I'm glad that you're there, thank you for your help.  I will let you know if there is anything you can do.

Christina: You can't tell me anybody that can find Caylee?

Casey: No every number that I've tried, every number is disconnected. Nothing. I can't get a hold of anybody.
Christina: But that girl was the last person to have her?
Casey: She's the last person to have her. That was the last time that I saw Caylee.
Christine: Ok.  Lee says he doesn't have Tony's number.
Casey: Yes he does, he has it in his phone, he's got to stop fucking lying.  He just told me a second ago that he'd give me the number.
Christina: So if I go and I get you Tony's number, are you going to finish talking to me?
Casey: I, I will call you tomorrow. I want to talk to him really quick.  I haven't slept in four days.  I have not slept in four days.

Christina: Listen, if you're going to talk to anybody, you can talk to me.
Casey: I know I can talk to you, but at the same time I want to talk to Tony, and that's who I want to talk to right now.  I haven't had a chance to talk to him this morning before all this stuff happened, with trying to set up the MySpace, I made the MySpace.

Christina: Do you know the password to MySpace?
Casey: I made all of it!
Christina:  What's the password for the MySpace, so we can see if anybody has written any leads as to where Caylee might be?
Casey:  You can go online and see it!  As for messages, i don't  know if anybody's going to be messaging stuff.  The password is cays234. And it's caseyomarie@yahoo.com  cays234 is the password.

Christina: Hold on a second.
Lee: Hold on a second.
Christina: Ok, um, Tony's number is 631- 902-5443. Can Tony tell me anything?
Casey:  Baby, Tony doesn't know anything. I haven't talked to Tony since this morning.
Christina: Tony hasn't seen anything?
Casey: Tony hasn't seen Caylee since the beginning of June.  What was the number again?
Casey:  Leave your number at my house with my mom so I can get it and I can either call you later on tonight...
Christina:  How can I get a hold of you?
Casey: I'm at the jail, you can't!

Christina: How can I find out more information about that girl?
CASEY:  Have them look up a New York license for Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.  They've just been looking up the last name Gonzalez or the last name Fernandez. If they looked up her entire name, they might actually find her.  They haven't done that. They haven't listened to ANYTHING that I've said.
Christina:  How do you spell Zenida?
Casey: Z..E..N..A..I..D..A.
Christina: ZENAIDA Fernandez-Gonzalez

Christina: Where does she live?  Because they went and looked at her place...

Casey interrupts: Christina! Baby, you're not telling me anything I don't already know. Again, I've only been in jail since about OH, ABOUT, 8:30 tonight. I was with them all day today. I was with officers pretty much since 9 o'clock last night. Up until today, like up until this evening, when I came up here.

Christina:  But you're telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth.  Because they'll find...
Casey: About that I don't have a clue as to where my daughter is? Yeah that is the truth; that's the absolute truth.
Christina: They'll find out, and whoever has...
Casey:  Ok Christina, I'm hanging up now. I need to make this other call before I forget the numbers.  I'll call you later.
Christina: Ok.
Casey: Bye!
Christina: Bye.

### End of tape

As the tape played for the jury, Casey Anthony sat stone-faced as she stared at the computer monitor on the defense table.  She showed no emotion, nothing.  Cindy Anthony on the other hand, still seated on the witness stand, cried several times as she listened to the call, now realizing that everything Casey was saying were lies.

CASEY ANTHONY'S JAILHOUSE PHONE CALL

After hearing riveting 911 calls that Cindy Anthony made to police, we then heard a tape that Casey Anthony made to the Anthony home after she was arrested and put in jail.  Looking at the defense table, there is a woman attorney who is speaking to Casey while Cheney Mason looks on solemnly.

Cindy testified that she provided law enforcement with a written statement, and she walked the deputy over to Casey's room. The next day, she turned over Casey's white Pontiac Sunfire and Caylee's playthings that were left in Casey's car over to the police. She also eventually turned over the home desktop computer to Orange County Sheriff's office a few days later in an effort to assist in locating Caylee, as well as Cindy's laptop computer. She also turned over some items that she believed that the nanny had possibly handled over to the police as well.  There were additional items that Cindy turned over to police, with the hopes that it could help them locate Caylee.

When asked for her former cell phone number, she said it was the same number as it is today, which is 407-808-4731.  She said that her home# was: 407-281-0646.  She also testified that Lee set up a tip line, as well as helped she and George set up a command center in a public shopping center in order to help find Caylee.

On July 16th, 2008, she testified of receiving a phone call from Casey after she was arrested?  Although the defense objected to this tape, the phone call tape was received into evidence.  It was received at 11:16pm.

JAILHOUSE TAPE FROM CASEY ANTHONY

It began with a recording that stated that the call was originating from the Orlando County Correctional Center, that it was a collect call from Casey, and requesting the receiving party to press 0 to accept charges.  After hearing that the 0 was pressed, the call's recording started to play.

NEXT UP... AMY HUIZENGA (or is it Heizenga?.. I'll get it right on my next blog)

911 TAPES PLAYED FOR JURY; CINDY SOBS & HAS TO BE HELPED OFF WITNESS STAND

This morning's testimony was the most dramatic, heart-wrenching testimony seen so far.  We heard three 911 tapes, and saw Cindy Anthony crumble on the witness stand as she relived the first day of learning that little Caylee was missing.

Cindy Anthony resumed her testimony today about how Casey lied to her, then about her MySpace posting where she tried to get Casey to get in touch with her, and then she testified about going to the tow yard to retrieve Casey's car.  At one point, the prosecution asked Cindy if George had ever inquired as to Casey's whereabouts, and she answered yes, that George asked about Casey daily, but that she was the one who told him to "back off", because Casey needed her space during that time.

Cindy then testified about the day she found Casey.  She described finding Casey with Amy Huizenga's help.  She found Casey at Tony Lazzaro's apartment. After finding her, she made Casey come with her, and then Cindy drove off with Casey and Amy. After dropping Amy off at her home, Cindy resumed asking Casey where Caylee was and why Casey's car was at the tow yard.  Refusing to answer, Casey asked her mom to drive her back to Tony's apartment.  Cindy refused, and saw an Orlando police substation on the way home.  Angry that she wasn't getting any answers, she told Casey that if she didn't take her to Caylee, she was going to get someone else to help her.  When Cindy arrived at the police substation, she saw that it was closed.  When she got back in the car, she told Casey that this was the last time she had to tell her where Caylee was, and when Casey refused again, Cindy said "I wasn't getting the answers I wanted so I called 911".

FIRST 911 TAPE IS INTRODUCED

Over defense attorney Cheney Mason's objections, a CD of the first 911 tape was given by prosecuting attorney Linda Drane-Burdick so it could be played for the jury.

Prior to the tape being played,  Judge Perry told the jury the following: "On July 15th, 2008, Orlando police department received a 911 call from Cindy Anthony.  It is to be considered true.  The evidence you are about to receive thru this 911 call is to be considered by you only as to Cindy's state of mind at the time, not for any alleged criminal activities by the defendant such as stolen car or a bank account.  She is not on trial for a crime, wrong or act that is not in the indictment."   And then the 911 tape started to play for the jury.

FIRST 911 TAPE BEGINS

As the first 911 tape began playing in the courtroom, CindyAnthony covered her mouth and started to cry.  Defendant Casey Anthony sat stone-faced, staring at the monitor in front of her which was showing a running transcript of the call.   As the 911 tape begins, Cindy starts off by saying that she needs to bring in someone to the police department.

CINDY: "Hi. I drove to a police department that is closed and I have a 22 year old person that stole something; my car and also money".
POLICE DISPATCHER: Is this a relative?
CINDY: Yes
DISPATCHER: What did they steal?
CINDY: My car and money.
DISPATCHER: Is this your son?
CINDY: "Daughter".
Then Cindy tells the dispatcher how her car was taken and that she had affidavits of money being taken from her bank account.  The dispatcher then question Cindy as to where these alleged thefts occurred, trying to figure out what jurisdiction Cindy needed to contact to file the report.  When finding out that the alleged crimes that Cindy is calling about are in the Orlando jurisdiction.  The dispatcher then tells Cindy that he's going to transfer her to another police department.

While waiting for police to transfer her call to the appropriate police department, we hear Cindy tell Casey "My next thing is that we'll have a court order to get her, if that's the way you want to play it... I'm not going to give you another day, I've given you a month."  Cindy is obviously agitated with Casey, who is reacting in a defiant manner to her mother's questioning about Caylee.

Prosecutor LINDA DRANE-BURDICK then asked Cindy: "Mrs. Anthony, did you stay there at that location, on Persian, where you made that call?"
CINDY: No I did not
DRANE-BURDICK (DB): Where did you go from there?
CINDY: They told me to go home or to the side of the road.  I decided to go home.
DB: Did you call George?
CINDY: No
DB: Did you call your son Lee??
CINDY: No.
DB: Did you go back to your residence?
CINDY: Yes.
DB: How long did it take you to get there?
CINDY: Just a few minutes, it's only a few miles away.
DB: When you arrived at home, had anyone arrived at your house?
CINDY: When I arrived, Lee was there; that George had called him and that he wanted Lee to be at their house.
DB: Did you see Lee at the house?
CINDY: Yes, he was in the driveway.
DB: When you arrived, did you pull into the driveway?
CINDY: Yes, I eventually drove into the driveway.
DB: Did everyone go into the house?
CINDY: Yes. Casey immediately jumped out of the car and went into the house. Lee followed her, and I parked the car and followed them.
DB: Once you got there, what did you tell Lee?
CINDY: I told him what had happened, and Casey refused to tell me where Caylee was.
DB: Did you go to the police station at this point?
CINDY: No. Talking to Lee, he thought that if we sat down together, he wanted to try to talk to her to get some answers.
DB: Did the two of them speak together?
CINDY: The three of us were in a six foot proximity of each other, so we could all see each other and speak to each other.
DB: Did you continue to insist that you wanted to see Caylee then and there.
CINDY: Yes. Casey kept saying that Caylee would probably already asleep and she didn't want to be disturb her and we could get her the next day.  I didn't care if it disrupted Caylee's sleep, I wanted to see her.  Casey kept insisting that she didn't want to get her that night.  When Casey refused, I was getting more upset, but allowed Lee to speak with his sister alone, and I made another call to 911.

THE SECOND 911 TAPE IS PLAYED FOR THE JURY:

In this tape, Cindy is now telling 911:  "I have someone here that I need to have be arrested in my home.  I finally found my daughter after a month, but I can't find my granddaughter who has been missing since June 30th ... I want my daughter arrested for stealing money and a car.  I called earlier and was told to call again".

During this call, Cindy is composed and obviously angry with her daughter and is looking for help from the police, in order to find Caylee.

Dispatcher: How old is your daughter?
Cindy: 22.
Dispatcher: What is her name?
Cindy: Casey Anthony.
Dispatcher: And your name?
Cindy: Cynthia Anthony.
Dispatcher: Phone number?
Cindy: 407-808-4731.
Dispatcher: And you said you have the vehicle back?
Cindy: Yes.
Dispatcher: Casey's there right now?
Cindy: Yes, but we can't find our granddaughter.
Dispatcher: How tall is Casey?
Cindy: 5'1 1/2.
Dispatcher: Thin or medium built?
Cindy: Thin.
Dispatcher: Hair color?
Cindy: Brown.
Dispatcher: What color shirt is she wearing?
Cindy: White.
Dispatcher: What color pants?
Cindy: They're shorts, Pink and black plaid.
Dispatcher: Does she have any weapons on her?
Cindy: No.
Dispatcher: Is Casey not telling you where her daughter is?
Cindy: Correct.
Dispatcher: Ok, we'll have a deputy out to you as soon as one is available.

--- END OF 2ND TAPE

Judge Perry reiterated to the jury: "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, this tape should only be considered by you for Cindy Anthony's state of mind and excited utterance. Not for any other crimes that are not in the indictment.  Remember the defendant is not on trial for a crime, wrong or act that is not in the indictment."

Linda Drane-Burdick continued questioning Cindy.

LB: Did the police arrive to your house?
CINDY: Not fast enough.
LB: How long did it take them?
CINDY: It seemed to take forever.
LB: Did you try to get Casey to talk to you further?
CINDY: I was pacing back and forth, from the hallway to the livingroom to Casey's room, cuz I was getting angrier and upset as I was waiting for the police.
LB: Is Lee Anthony in the room with Casey?
CINDY: Yes, they were both in her room, she was sitting on her bed and Lee was leaning up against her dresser.
LB: At any point, did you overhear Casey make a statement to her brother about Caylee whereabouts.  CINDY: Yes... (Cindy is sobbing), I  overheard her tell Lee that Caylee was gone for 31 days and that the Zanny had taken her.(Cindy is now sobbing uncontrollably).
LB: How did you respond to that?
CINDY: "I lost it. I asked her "What do you mean she's been gone? Why didn't you tell me? I swore at her and hit the bed.  I ran out of  there and called the police again." (Cindy continues to sob).

3RD (AND FINAL) 911 TAPE IS PLAYED FOR THE JURY (OVER DEFENSE OBJECTIONS)

As the 911 tapes begins, we hear Cindy sobbing on phone.  As soon as the dispatcher answers the call, she starts rambling off everything and the dispatcher asks her to slow down and explain why she is calling.

CINDY: I called a little while ago, and my daughter finally admitted to me that the babysitter stole her.  I need someone here NOW! (Cindy then tells her address). My daughter finally admitted to me that the babysitter stole her!
Dispatcher: Your granddaughter is where?
(Looking at Cindy on the witness stand, she has her head in her hands, and is sobbing.  Casey looks at her mother, and the monitor that is running transcripts from the 911 call, and has a sad look on her face).

CINDY:"I need to find her!"
DISPATCHER: "You daughter admitted that the baby is where?"
CINDY: "That the babysitter took her a month ago;  my daughter has been looking for her. I told you that my daughter has been missing for a month; I just found her today but I can't find my granddaughter. She just admitted to me that she's been trying to find her herself..."

(Cindy's head has now sunken down below the top of the witness stand. She continues to sob as she listens to the following infamous, riveting WORDS FOREVER ASSOCIATED WITH THE CASEY ANTHONY CASE:

CINDY: "There's something wrong, I found my daughter's call today and it smells like there's been a dead body in the damned car.

Continuing on the phone, the 911 dispatcher asks: "What is the baby's name?"
CINDY: Caylee Anthony
DISPATCHER: Is she white, black or Hispanic?
CINDY: White
DISPATCHER: How long has she been missing for?
CINDY: I have not seen her since the 7th of June.
DISPATCHER: What is her date of birth?
CINDY: 8/9/2005, oh my god she's three.  (We hear Cindy is sobbing on the phone).  She then says "George, Caylee's missing! (Then you hear George in the background say What?). Cindy tells George: "Caylee's missing! Casey that that Zanny took her a month ago.  She's been missing for a month!."

(As we look at Cindy on the witness stand, her head has sunk even lower than it was before as she continues to sob, to the point we can hardly see but a little bit of her blond hair behind the witness stand.  As we look at Casey, she's wiping tears away as she listens and looks at her monitor).

On the 911 tape, Cindy is now hysterical and the dispatcher asks to speak with Casey. We hear Cindy tell Casey to get on the phone with the dispatcher. Casey says "I don't want to talk to them.  Cindy then says "Answer their questions" and then Casey gets on the phone, but she sounds a bit annoyed.

911 DISPATCHER: Hello? Can you tell me what's going on a bit.
CASEY answers, in a calm, matter-of-fact tone of voice: "My daughter has been missing for the last 31 days.
DISPATCHER: And you know who has her?
CASEY: I know who has her. I tried to contact her, I actually just received a phone call from her today now from a number that is no longer in service. I did speak to my daughter for a moment. (In the courtroom, Cindy's head is still buried behind the witness stand. Casey looks at her monitor with a sad look on her face).

911 DISPATCHER: Did you guys call to report a vehicle stolen?
CASEY: Um, yes, my mom did.
DISPATCHER: Ok, is there a vehicle stolen too?
CASEY: No, it's my vehicle.
DISPATCHER: What vehicle was stolen?
CASEY: Um, It's a 98 Pontiac Sunfire.

DISPATCHER: We have deputies on their way for that. Now your three year old is missing, Caylee Anthony, white female, 3 years old, 8/9/2005 is her date of birth.
CASEY: Yes
DISPATCHER: And you last saw her a month ago?
CASEY: 31 days ago. It's been 31 days.
DISPATCHER: Who has her? Do you have a name?
CASEY: Her name is Zenida Fernandez Gonzalez.
DISPATCHER: Who's that?  Babysitter?
CASEY: She's been my nanny for about a year and a half. (Cindy is still hidden behind the witness stand she's at).
DISPATCHER: Why didn't you call earlier?
CASEY: I've been looking for her and going thru other resources to find her, which is stupid.
The DISPATCHER asked Casey to spell the nanny's name for her.
CASEY spells it out : ZENIDA FERNANDEZ-GONZALEZ.  Casey then tells the dispatcher that the police officers have arrived at the home.
+++

The 911 tape is stopped. Cindy then lifts her head and asked the judge for a break.  Judge Perry called for a 5 minute recess.  Cindy had to be helped off the stand by one of the attorneys, and then was held by her husband george as they walked out the courtroom.

Wow!  Watching both mother and daughter in the courtroom, there was such a stark contrast between the emotional state between Cindy and Casey today.  Cindy was a sobbing, distraught woman and Casey appeared to sympathize at times, and then other times she appeared to be a courtroom observer. You wonder, how can someone do this to her mother?  How could they put their mother through this agony of not telling them where their granddaughter is, even if she had drowned as the defense is claiming.

After Cindy left, again without looking in Casey's direction, Casey started talking to her attorneys.

NEXT UP... CASEY'S FIRST JAIL HOUSE CALL

The jailhouse call tape was the next to be played for the jury.  It was recorded right after Casey was arrested and put in jail on July 16th, 2008.  During that time, Cindy and the rest of the family were busy speaking with media, and contacting all of Casey's friends, in order to get the word out on Caylee missing.

The call starts off with an automated recording indicating that it was a collect call from Casey at the Orlando County jail at 11:16pm.  We then hear Cindy Anthony's accept the charges and the call begins.  Cindy answers sweetly and Casey is pissed off.

THE JAIL HOUSE PHONE CALL DETAILS, AND CONTINUING COURTROOM DRAMA WILL BE POSTED IN MY NEXT BLOG.

CASEY ANTHONY MURDER TRIAL (FIRST WEEK RECAP)

After almost three years since the death of Caylee Marie Anthony, Casey Anthony's murder trial began this week in Florida.  As the trial started, we heard the State of Florida's, and Casey Anthony's defense's opening statements.

OPENING STATEMENTS

On Tuesday, Florida state prosecutor, Linda Drane-Burdick, told a powerful story showing Casey lied for 31 days, partying while no one knew where little Caylee Anthony was.  She told a simple, powerful story showing Casey lied to avoid getting caught after murdering Caylee so that she could be free of  the chains of responsibility. "No one else benefited from the death of Caylee Marie Anthony.  Caylee's death allowed Casey Anthony to live the good life, at least for those 31 days."

For the first 20 minutes of Linda's opening statements, Casey sat stone-faced, at times shaking her head no.  Drane-Burdick described a month of moves Casey made without Caylee by her side, all leading up to when George Anthony found her car at a tow yard, flanked by a worker at the towing company, saying: "And as they approached the vehicle, an overwhelming smell is emanating from it."

Legal analyst Bill Sheaffer called the state's opening statement a "Masterpiece" that detailed nothing but lies, from Casey's fictitious job to an imaginary nanny.  Drane-Burdick said: "There is no Zanny.  Like Casey Anthony's job, Casey Anthony's babysitter was a figment of her imagination".

It all culminated with the theory of what happened.  Drane-Burdick: "Examination of that scene revealed that the body of Caylee Marie Anthony had been wrapped in a Winnie the Pooh blanket, stuffed into multiple garbage bags, shoved into a laundry bag, and then thrown into a littered swamp like she was just another piece of trash".

The defense painted a much different picture.  They called Casey a victim and dropped bombshell after bombshell as to what they said happened.

Jose Baez, Casey's lead defense attorney started his opening statements by saying:  "Caylee Anthony died on June 16th, 2008 when she drowned in the family's swimming pool." He continued explaining their version of events by saying "As soon as Casey went into the back, she saw George Anthony holding Caylee in his arms.  She immediately grabbed Caylee and began to cry, and cry and cry.  And shortly thereafter, George began to yell at her 'Look at what you've done! Your mother will never forgive you and you will go to jail for child neglect for the rest of frickin' your life!' "  Jose dropped another bombshell when he accused George of one of the worst things a father could face.  "She (Casey) could be 13 years old, have her father's penis in her mouth and then go to school and play with the other kids as if nothing had ever happened."  Jose continued that George and Casey covered up what happened, and that long time sexual abuse led Casey to not only tell lies, but live a lie.  Baez: "Casey was raised to lie. This child learned to lie from the age of eight years old".

LEGAL ANALYST'S REVIEW OF WEEK

Legal analyst, Bill Sheaffer, says that although the defense's theory is quite compelling, it doesn't completely ring true. "You would have buy that law enforcement, the prosecutors, the Anthony family, in particular George, the FBI, all engaged in a conspiracy".  He continues by saying that the theory falls apart with claims that Roy Kronk, the meter reader who found Caylee's remains, had staged them there for some unclear reason.  After hearing Jose's accusation during opening statements, Roy Kronk's attorney made a statement denying any involvement of Kronk hiding Caylee's remains.

Another major hole facing the defense's theory is an August 14th, 2008 jailhouse video showing Casey actually mocking the theory that Caylee drowned in the family swimming pool.  In this video, Cindy tells Casey that the latest theory of what happened to Caylee is that she drowned in the family's swimming pool. Casey quickly responds sarcastically, saying "Surprise surprise".  Legal analysts believe that this jailhouse video will most likely make it into this trial, and it will have a big impact on the jury.

OUTSIDE THE COURTROOM, SPECTATORS WAIT FOR A TICKET TO WATCH THE TRIAL

People wanting seats in the courtroom have been lining up outside the courthouse every day in hopes of getting one of the available 50 spectator seat tickets.  Careful to not have any courtroom outbursts, court deputies have been careful with the spectators they do allow into the courtroom.  They prevented one lady of coming in when it was determined that she was drunk.  A camera crew even went up to her and said that they could smell alcohol on her breath, with which she responded: "Oh, so can you?  Do you have a degree in alcoholism or something?"  She was slurring her words as she answered, and then she left.

HOW DID THE DEFENSE DO THIS WEEK?

Although many say that defense attorney Jose Baez delivered a powerful opening statement, the rest of the week didn't go so well for him.  He had a run-in with the media and was scolded by the judge time and time again.  Camera crews caught Baez as he shouted out an obscenity and then threw down his briefcase after being tripped by a news cameraman on his way to the courthouse.  In court, it appeared that he was either unknowingly or intentionally breaking the judge's rules repeatedly. Judge Perry at one point told Jose "Do not go there!  Next question" after he asked George Anthony a question involving George's attorney.  Jose then said to George: "You were specifically excluded from the rules of sequestration", at which point Judge Perry interrupted and immediately called him over to a sidebar to further scold him.  Judge Perry said that Jose was unfairly trying to cast doubt on George's testimony because he is allowed to listen to everyone else's testimony.  Later, Judge Perry sent jurors out of the room to further admonish Jose about repeatedly not following the judge's instructions not to ask questions about a photographs which were not yet in evidence.

WHERE IS CHENEY MASON?

Casey's most experienced attorney, Cheney Mason, has stayed in the background for the majority of the trial so far, allowing Jose Baez to take the lead.  The only time Cheney questioned a witness was on Thursday, when he briefly questioned one of Casey's former male friends.

JOSE BAEZ BADGERS GEORGE ANTHONY

In Jose Baez's opening statements, he made serious accusations against Casey's father, George Anthony.  Jose sparred with George, asking sleazy, unnecessarily cruel questions, trying to trip him up during his questioning.  He accused George of sexual abuse against Casey and of trying to cover up Caylee's accidental drowning death.  Legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said that Baez was trying to come across as Casey's protector against her allegedly abusive father, but Casey's lies, the defense's admission that Casey is a liar and George's sincerity on the stand will make it an uphill battle.

Prosecutors destroyed Baez's attempts by asking George if he had covered up Caylee's death, of which he answered no, that if he'd known that something had happened to his granddaughter "we wouldn't be here today".

OTHER WITNESS TESTIMONIES

Emotional testimony came from Casey's brother's fiancee, Mallory Parker, who broke down as she described the special bond between Casey and Caylee as being "amazing".   Jurors also heard from the tow yard manager, who described smelling the scent of human decomposition coming from Casey's car.

Testimony from the men in Casey's life centered around how Casey lied to them repeatedly about where Caylee was.  Casey's most recent boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro, testified about his anger and feelings of betrayal by Casey when he first found out about Caylee's disappearance.  Text messages between he and Casey were gone through line by line, with Tony asking Casey why she didn't tell him about Caylee, and how Casey avoided answering him.  Then former boyfriend, Ricardo Morales, testified about his relationship with Casey and Caylee, and his posting of a photo of a man and woman with the caption "Win her over with chloroform" on his MySpace page.  He said that he posted it as a joke.  This testimony is expected be tied to searches for chloroform which were found on the Anthony home computer.  Ricardo also testified about sleeping arrangements with Casey and Caylee in his apartment.

WHAT WILL NEXT WEEK BRING?

Bill Sheaffer said that next week we can expect to hear testimony about the 911 calls that Cindy made, including the infamous statement she made "There's something wrong. We found our daughter's car today and there smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car!".  This will serve as an entry to police testimony.  Baez is expected to cross-examine Cindy, but he probably won't be as accusatory as he was with George Anthony.  She has too much sympathy from the jury at this point.  He's going to have to talk about the fact that there was a possibility that the pool's ladder could have been accidentally left on the pool.   Lee Anthony is also expected to take the stand.

The trial is expected to resume on Tuesday, May 31st at 9am.

CASEY ANTHONY BREAKS DOWN; EX-BOYFRIEND & MOTHER TAKE THE STAND (UPDATED)

First up on the witness stand for the Casey Anthony trial was Casey's former boyfriend, Anthony (Tony) Lazzaro.

Tony testified about events surrounding July 16th, the day he first met Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother, when she arrived at his apartment looking for Casey.  He said that he was playing video games with a friend/roommate of his when Amy Huizenga, Casey's friend, knocked on the door and he yelled out for the knocker to enter.  Casey was sitting near him when the door opened and he saw Amy standing at his door.  Casey left the apartment with Amy.  Shortly thereafter Casey's mother appeared at the door. She was with Casey and told her to get her things and that they were leaving.  Tony testified that Casey yelled at her mother that she would leave but she planned on returning.  He heard Cindy tell Casey no, she wasn't going to return.  Stunned and confused, Tony continued to sit watching, and thought to himself, "oh oh, someone's in trouble".  Tony testified that shortly thereafter an Orlando police officer came to his apartment and asked for Casey's cell phone.  Afterwards, he received a call from Lee Anthony, Casey's brother, asking if it was ok that he come to Tony's apartment to gather some of Casey's things.  Tony told Lee that he was welcome to come and asked what was going on.  That was when he first heard that Caylee was missing.  A few hours later, another police officer arrived, and looked around his apartment for about thirty minutes and left.  Between 9pm and 12 midnight, Lee arrived and took with him a duffle bag that contained Casey's clothes.

Moving on, prosecutors began questioning Tony about text messages he exchanged with Casey after she left his apartment with her mother.  Prosecutors went line by line with Tony, as he read the text messages that were exchanged between himself and Casey.  He testified that he became infuriated when he first heard that Caylee had been kidnapped by her nanny.  He asked her, via text, why she did tell him of all people that Caylee was taken by the babysitter, that she was missing. He said that he was her boyfriend, and of all people, she should have told him. She responded that she felt guilty about trusting a psycho babysitter.  Believing her, Tony continued texting her that he was available to help.

As the texting continued there was one point when Casey texted Tony that if Caylee was not found "Guess who'll be spending eternity in jail", referring to her.

Wanting more information, Tony phoned Casey. His first question to her was "Where's Caylee"?.  When prosecutors asked how he was feeling at the time he called Casey, he said that he was angry, felt lied to, betrayed.  As Tony described his feelings during that time, his demeanor on the witness stand shifted, reflecting how he really felt totally betrayed by Casey.  He appeared upset as he continued answering questions.

He kept asking Casey questions about what exactly happened to Caylee and why didn't she tell him anything, but she continued avoiding answering his questions.  After realizing that he was getting nowhere, he testified that he ultimately got frustrated and told her that he had to go to class and hung up the phone.

JOSE BAEZ CROSS-EXAMINES TONY LAZZARO

Jose Baez came back on the stand, and said to Tony, "These conversations were bizarre?". Tony's answer was "Yes sir".  He had Tony testify that during these text messages, Casey was giving the appearance that she believed that Caylee was still alive, and she cared about her parents.  Baez continued saying to Tony, in a question, that it was hard to tell what was real and what wasn't. "Yes sir", was Tony's answer.  Baez then questioned Tony about Tony's apartment dumpster, and its location.

NEXT WITNESS - CINDY ANTHONY (CASEY'S MOTHER)

As Cindy approached the witness stand, she asked for a bottle of water.  When she introduced herself, her voice cracked and was visibly upset.  The prosecuting attorney, Linda Drane-Burdick was in charge of questioning Cindy.  When cameras focused on Casey, she appeared sad as she looked at her mother.  Cindy testified about when they first moved from Ohio to their current home on Hopespring Drive in Florida.  Her son Lee was seven, and Casey was three and a half years old.  She spoke about Hidden Oaks Elementary school, an elementary school which had just completed construction, and was located about five minutes down the street they live on.  Lee didn't attend this school, but Casey did starting with  kindergarten.

Cindy testified that Caylee Marie was born August 9, 2005.  She said that the first time that she found out that Casey was pregnant was on June 30th.  She said that the way she found out about Casey's pregnancy was when that Casey came to her workplace and told her.  Questioning about a wedding that the family attended, where there is a photograph of Casey seven months pregnant standing next to Cindy, began.  Cindy testified that the reason she didn't associate Casey's bloated stomach as being one of a pregnant woman was due to Casey's history of having severe bloating during her menstral cycles. Cindy also experienced severe bloating, and said that it could make both she and Casey appear to look like pregnant women.   In addition to that, Casey started putting on some weight, but Cindy attributed it to Casey being sedentary because she had taken a desk job at Universal Studios. She said that if Casey didn't move around, and being that Casey is short, her weight would be exaggerated.  Cindy said that in the end, Casey only gained about 15 pounds throughout the entire pregnancy.  When asked by prosecutors, Cindy testified that she never tried to hide Casey's pregnancy.  She said that as soon as she found out, she was excited and started planning a baby shower.  Cindy contacted everyone about the news.  They started making preparations for Caylee's arrival.  Cindy took Casey shopping for maternity clothes, they turned their home computer room into a baby's room.  A theme of Winnie the Pooh was chosen for the room.

When a photo of Caylee's bed was shown to Cindy and the jury, Cindy broke down sobbing.  The bed had Winnie the Pook bedspread and siding.  Cindy continued her testimony, in between sobs and wiping her tears away.  Her testimony about Caylee's bedroom and her little playhouse in the backyard was the most difficult for Cindy.

CASEY BREAKS DOWN AS HER MOTHER IGNORES HER

At one point the judge called for a short recess and Cindy stepped off the witness stand.  She walked by the defense table without looking at Casey.  The jury was out of the courtroom and the microphones in the courtroom were turned off.  The cameras however, were not.  As the cameras focused on Casey, we saw her initially flanked by two of her attorneys.  As Cindy walked by, Casey's attorneys parted and we saw Casey staring at her mother as she walked by.  Casey appeared to be looking for her mother to say something to her.  When she saw Cindy completely ignore her as she left the courtroom, Casey started to cry, and then her sadness became peppered with anger.  Not hiding her mouth as she's done throughout this trial, she started complaining to her female defense attorney, about either her mother's testimony or that she ignored Casey.  Unlike the pre-trial hearings from two years ago when Cindy would mouth the words "I love you" to Casey, this time Cindy did not look in her daughter's direction.  This has obviously hurt Casey deeply.   (Unable to read lips, I was only able to gather some things Casey was complaining about because she got so animated.  I saw her saying "She won't even look at me!". Her attorney put her arm around Casey and said "I know". Then Casey started crying and said " ... for three years. Nothing!", "How could she!", "I would never do that!" and "She was never there for me!" as she  waived her hands around and shook her head no).  The female defense attorney spoke softly with her in an attempt to calm her down.  The attorney appeared to try to explain why Casey's mother's actions, but that only angered her more.  After more than three minutes of angry tirade, Casey finally calmed down.

Cindy testified about Caylee's playhouse and her love of swimming in the family's above-ground swimming pool.  Cindy also testified about the video she took of Caylee when she went with Cindy to visit Cindy's father, Caylee's great-grandfather, at the nursing home he was residing in.  Cindy testified that she took the video because she was afraid that her father, being as sick as he was, might not be alive very much longer.  After coming home from their visit of Cindy's father, Caylee and Cindy went swimming in their pool.  When Casey returned home, she came out to the pool and asked to join them, at which point Cindy said that Caylee and she had been in the pool for over an hour and it was getting cold. So they got out of the pool and Casey helped get Caylee out of the pool.  Then the three of them, Cindy, Casey and Caylee watched the video Cindy had taken of their visit at Cindy's father's nursing home.  She said that she and Casey both cried, because Cindy's father was now in hospice and they were afraid that he would not be alive much longer.  When asked if Cindy ever saw Caylee again after that day, June 16th, her voice trembled as she answered "No ma'am, I did not", and she wiped her tears away.

Cindy then testified about believing that Casey was employed at Universal Studios.  Cindy said that Casey had a name tag which was attached to a shamrock-themed lanyard.  She said that sometimes Casey had different people's names on the name tag she wore, saying that it was a common occurrence, and that it was considered a running joke at Universal - to switch name tags while at work. Cindy also said that she'd seen emails which were sent to Casey from her boss at Universal.  Cindy detailed Casey's work history, saying that she had met Casey's boss prior to Caylee being born. Cindy knew that for a few weeks, Casey did not work at Universal, but that afterwards she believed that Casey had gotten another job there.

Testimony then centered around Cindy's belief that Casey had a nanny, by the name of "Zanny".  Cindy recounted details about the nanny, including Zanny being Jeff Hopkins' girlfriend, and Jeff being the person who had introduced Casey to Zanny in Spring 2006.  Interrupting her testimony briefly, Cindy asked the judge to take down the picture of Caylee from the screen in front of her, because it was so upsetting to her.  The judge promptly had the picture removed from Cindy's screen.

Cindy then said that during Caylee's first few months of life, whenever it was necessary, she was babysat by one of Casey's best friends, Lauren Gibbs.  Cindy said that she'd met Lauren, knew where she lived and was very familiar with her.  When the prosecutor asked if Cindy had ever met Zanny, the answer was no.

When the prosecutor asked if Cindy had looked for Zanny, she said that she looked for her from July 15, 2008 until six weeks ago.  She never found her.

Cindy testified that she spoke with Casey on June 16, 2008 briefly around 4pm.  Casey told her that she was going to spend the night at Zanny's.  Cindy went to work early, since it was a Monday and there were early staff meetings on Mondays.  She also said that George was scheduled to go to work that day as well.  Whenever asked for specifics about what Casey told her, Cindy's recall was impressive.  She detailed things that Casey told her about her work days, including a big negotiation she was working on at Universal with the Hard Rock Cafe.  Cindy said that Casey also spoke about having a co-worker named Juliette Lewis who had a daughter called Annabelle.  From June 18th thru the 21st, Cindy spoke with Casey every day.  Although Caylee loved to speak on the phone with Cindy, Casey always gave her a reason why Caylee was unable to come to the phone.  "There was always a reason I missed her", Cindy said sadly, and she looked down. The entire time Cindy was testifying about Zanny, Casey sat expressionless, stone-faced.

Prosecutors then focused Cindy on July 3rd, and she testified about needing to speak to Casey about some "money issues" (whatever the "money issues" were, they were not discussed in detail during today's testimony).  Cindy wanted to speak to Casey face to face, and she also wanted to see Caylee since she hadn't seen her in so long.  She phoned Casey to find out where she was, and Casey told her she was at her job at Universal Studios.  Without telling Casey, Cindy drove to Universal around 3pm, parked in the parking lot in the Guest Services area and called Casey.  She told Casey that she was there and said "Can I talk to you?" at which point Casey told her that she was not actually at Universal Studios; she was in Jacksonville, Florida, which came as a total shock to Cindy.  Casey told Cindy that she had decided to take Caylee to Jacksonville, to Jeff's condo, to try to rekindle their relationship.  She told her mother that she didn't want her to know that she had left town with Caylee.  Upon hearing this, Cindy was upset and had her doubts that Casey was really in Jacksonville.

Wanting to find her daughter and Caylee, Cindy called her son, Lee, who told her that based on chatter on either MySpace or Facebook, Casey posted that she might go downtown for the 4th of July celebrations (in Orlando).  He said that he'd try to find her.  Feeling betrayed upon hearing that Casey was probably not in Jacksonville as she was told, Cindy created a MySpace account and put up a plea to Casey around 8pm.  In her posting, she vented about feeling betrayed, sent a "Friend" request to Casey and hoped that she would respond.  Unfamiliar with MySpace, Cindy thought that her posting would only be accessible to her MySpace "Friends" (the posting details were not discussed).  Casey never responded to Cindy's posting.  When Cindy finally reached Casey and asked her why she hadn't responded, Casey told her that she felt the posting was mean spirited, and that anyone could read that posting.  (Jose Baez, Casey's defense attorney, objected numerous times during this questioning.  During one sidebar, cameras focused on Casey as she was staring at her mother.  She looked stoic and then turned her attention to the sidebar conversation).  After the sidebar, the judge recessed for the day.

When Cindy stepped down from the witness stand, she again walked by without looking at Casey.

Testimony is set to recommence on Tuesday at 8:30am est, since Monday is a holiday (Memorial Day).

CASEY ANTHONY'S DEFENSE ASKS FOR MISTRIAL - CASEY'S FUTURE SISTER-IN-LAW, TOW TRUCK MANAGER & GEORGE ANTHONY TESTIFY

As the trial resumed this morning, we heard from a few more witnesses in the Casey Anthony murder case.  Jose Baez continued his cross-examination of George Anthony.  Although Jose tried to get George to lose his temper, by accusing him of lying and of knowing that Caylee died from drowning on June 16th, 2008, George kept his cool.  In turn he would sometimes not directly answer Jose's questions.  This  went on the entire time Jose was questioning George. There were several times when Jose Baez asked leading and inappropriate questions of George. Although the prosecution quickly objected, Jose's accusations were already heard by the jury.  A few times the prosecution interrupted Jose's questioning of George, when they saw his leading questions coming. At one point, even Judge Perry told Jose to stop,  telling him "don't go there" and told him to ask another question.  That Jose is a sneaky guy.

We also heard from Lee Anthony's fiancee, Mallory, who cried as she testified how Casey was an "amazing" mom to Caylee.  When Jose got up to ask Mallory about how wonderful Casey was with Caylee, he made sure that she testified a lot about how she saw a genuine love between them.  As Casey listened to Mallory's testimony, she smiled and wiped away tears, showing emotion for the jury.  After seeing this testimony on TV, a lot of reporters are saying that Jose "scored a lot of points" with Mallory's testimony.  Others said that although her testimony was strong and supports Casey being a good mother, there have been many other mothers, convicted of murdering their children, such as Susan Smith, Andrea Yates.  Both Susan and Andrea had testimonials from friends and family, saying that these mothers truly loved their children. They also had family pictures, and videos, showing their love for their children prior to them killing them.

Three witnesses from Johnson's Tow Yard took the stand today and testified to whether they smelled anything around Casey's car.  One gentleman, who has worked in waste management for several years, and had prior experience of smelling human decomposition, testified that he definitely recognized that horrible smell when he approached Casey's car.  He testified that as he approached her car, he didn't smell anything.  That was until he looked inside the car's window and then that's when the powerful smell of human decomposition hit him.  We also heard from another tow truck employee, who testified about his reaction to the smell of Casey's car, as he and George Anthony approached it in the tow yard.  He testified that he smelled the horrible stench of human decomposition as he approached the car.  It was intensified when George opened the car trunk.

Near the end of the day, when the jury was out of the courtroom, prosecutors wanted some items allowed into evidence, the judge asked them for legal grounds.  The prosecution stated that it would be for showing motive, of why Casey killed Caylee.  When Judge Perry asked, prosecutors said that they believed that it would show that the reason that Casey wanted to get rid of Caylee, so that she could be free to be with Tony Lazzaro.  The judge however, didn't buy that reasoning, saying that Casey lived at home and had free reign to come and go.  He smiled as he asked prosecutors why she just didn't kill her parents.  Before he received any answer, he told them not to answer and then denied the admittance of the items.  Jose Baez had a huge smirk on his face as he watched his adversaries get ridiculed by the judge, as he's had done to him many times thus far.

At one point today, the defense asked for a mistrial, stating that there has been too much testimony about Casey's lack of remorse.  Judge Perry ruled denied their request, saying that the testimony was not showing lack of remorse, but was rather showing Casey's demeanor during the 31 days Caylee was missing.

Trial continues bright and early tomorrow, Saturday morning at 9am est.  It is scheduled to go until 1pm.
###

From local Florida news station:

Casey Anthony entered the courtroom just before 8:30am, wearing dark pants and a black vest over a white shirt. She had her hair pulled back in a bun.
Judge Perry then called court to order at 9:00am.
The manager of a towing yard where Casey Anthony's car was kept for more than two weeks during the summer of 2008 testified at her murder trial Friday that he smelled an odor coming from her car consistent with decomposing bodies he'd smelled in the past.
Simon Birch was the strongest prosecution witness of the day. The state also showed a series of videos of Casey going on a shopping spree over several days in late June and early July 2008.
Prosecutors have been portraying Casey as carefree and cheerful in the weeks after her child, Caylee, was last seen in June 2008, hanging out with friends and hitting the clubs. Caylee was reported missing a month later and her remains were found that December.
Birch said he'd spent 30 years in the towing business as well as two years in waste management, and had come across deceased bodies at least eight times. He said he first noticed the smell coming from Casey's' car on the fourth day her 1998 Pontiac was parked on his yard. The car had been towed after spending four days in an Amscot parking lot.
"In my opinion and experience, the smell of decomposition is unique in comparison to rotten food or rotting garbage," Birch said.
The defense argued in its opening statement that the smell was actually from a bag of trash that Casey left in her car.
"The instant flash in my mind was `Oh, I know what that smells like,"' Birch said about noticing the odor.
George Anthony took the stand again on Friday. He was questioned about Casey's car when it was at the towing yard.
As a former cop, George testified that he recognized the smell of human decomposition.
Since he hadn't seen his daughter or granddaughter for several days, he said the smell immediately frightened him.
"I just said, 'Please God don't let this be Casey or Caylee,'" Goerge said as his voice cracked.
Prosecutors also showed a photo of the backseat with Caylee's car seat still in it.
WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said the testimony is damaging for Casey's defense.
"He is familiar with the smell of trash and familiar with the smell of human decomposition and can tell the difference. He's a very important for the state," Sheaffer said.
The talk of the smell of death didn't seem to bother Casey as she sat stone-faced during the testimony.
Earlier in the day, the fiancee of Casey's brother, Lee Anthony, testified on Thursday that Casey had an "amazing" relationship with her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, who she is accused of killing.
Mallory Parker testified Friday that Casey had a special bond with Caylee.
"How was Casey and Caylee's relationship?" Parker was asked.
"It was amazing," she replied. "Casey and Caylee had a very special bond."
Parker broke down crying, and Casey also had to wipe tears away.
Parker was called to the witness stand by prosecutors who coaxed her into describing how Casey's brother and she had searched for Casey in Orlando bars in an attempt to locate her when her family hadn't seen her in many days during the summer of 2008.
Prosecutors say she was having fun with friends around the same time her daughter went missing.
William Waters was called to the stand on Friday. He said Casey and friend were planning on getting a house together to have a nanny take care of their children. He testified that Casey said she worked as an event coordinator at Universal Studios.
“She loved her job,” Waters said.
He described the shopping trip he made with Casey while she was essentially "fake shopping" for furniture so Casey could move into a new home with Caylee and a friend.
"Her and a friend of hers were looking for a stay-in nanny so they'd have their house together," Waters said.
The defense was also dealt a couple of blows. Judge Perry ruled in favor of prosecutors, forcing the defense to reveal questions before the jury is present if they plan to ask witnesses about statements that Casey may or may not have said or what might be considered "hearsay."
The defense also hoped to keep videos of Casey at Target and other stores out of court, saying prosecutors were trying to show a lack of remorse.
But the prosecutors argued it showed Casey's action and the judge allowed the videos.
A long list of witnesses told jurors on Thursday that Casey had no real reaction to Caylee's death in June of 2008.
One witness recalled Casey on the phone in a car, then bragging about a deceptive conversation with the person on the other end of the call.
“When she hung up she just kind of threw the phone down and said, 'Oh my God I'm such a good liar,'” said witness, Melissa England.
So far, no witnesses have been able to point to signs of remorse, which prompted Casey’s defense attorney Cheney Mason to ask the judge for a mistrial based on case law that restricts testimony that's sole intent is to show lack of remorse.
Prosecutors say Caylee died from three pieces of duct tape being placed over her mouth and nose, while Casey's attorney has claimed the toddler accidentally drowned in her grandparents' pool.
Casey, 25, has pleaded not guilty. If convicted of first-degree murder, she could be sentenced to death.
Casey's murder trial will resume at 9:00am Saturday.

CASEY ANTHONY TRIAL - TONY LAZZARO, RICARDO MORALES, OTHERS FRIENDS & GEORGE ANTHONY TAKE THE STAND

As Casey Anthony's trial continued today, we saw George Anthony's heated testimony exchange with Jose Baez, we saw a young lady testify how Casey lied in front of her and bragged about her lying abilities, and then Tony Lazzaro revealed that Casey told him that her brother tried to "feel her up" and her father "hit her".  When asked by the judge, for all specific details that he could remember from what Casey said, he said that was all he could remember.

We also heard from another former boyfriend of Casey's, Ricardo Morales, who had to answer the question of why he posted a picture of a elegantly dressed woman and man, with the caption "Win her over with Chloroform" on his Facebook page.  He responded that he "thought it was funny".  He also testified that while he was dating Casey, he had visited the Anthony home with Casey one time.  He said that the only time he saw Casey "discipline" Caylee was when she was trying to get Caylee to go to sleep.  Another interesting tidbit of information was revealed by Ricardo when he testified that Casey had slept over at his apartment while her then-boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro, was out of town (on June 7, 9th and 10th).  Caylee was with them during those nights too, and Casey slept in between Ricardo and Caylee.

FIRST ON THE STAND THIS MORNING... TONY LAZZARO

When Jose Baez started his cross-examination questioning of Tony Lazzaro this morning, Tony looked much more somber than he did yesterday, especially when the questioning him focused on Casey's love for him,  his love for her, and how he observed Casey being a good mother to Caylee.  AsTony was testifying how Caylee was a sweet kid, Casey smiled sadly and was shaking her head in agreement.

Jose directed Tony during cross-examination to testify that when he helped Casey with the gas cans in late June 2008, that he never smelled any bad odor.  The only odor he smelled was gasoline.

Prosecutors came back to re-direct, and Tony testified that Casey never indicated that Caylee was missing, never said that she was kidnapped, nor that there was any trouble whatsoever.

Then prosecutors brought George Anthony back to the stand.  Questioning centered on the gas cans and duct tape.  The prosecution directed George to testify how Casey had stolen the gas cans from George's garden shed.  He testified about a time when Casey came to the Anthony home, in late June 2008, and he asked to get an item from Casey's car trunk.  As he was going to get it, Casey rushed by him and opened the trunk, took out the item, giving it to him as well as the two missing gas cans, and said to George "Here are your fucking cans!" (George apologized that he had to swear, as he relayed what Casey said, on the stand).

There were several times when Jose Baez tried to get George Anthony upset on the stand, but George stood his ground.  A few times, George asked Jose not to "badger" him with his questioning.  George also asked Jose to clarify his questions at times, saying that Jose was trying to get him upset, saying that that was "not fair", and to "treat me with respect and I'll treat you with respect".  He was very careful with his responses to Jose's questioning about the gas cans and duct tape that was on the gas cans.  Reason being that initially there were two metal gas cans that were taken from his shed.  George needed gas for his lawnmower, so he ended up buying two plastic gas cans.  When Jose asked about duct tape on the gas cans, the questioning was further confused when there was a photograph, which was not allowed into evidence, which supposedly the FBI showed George (in Jose Baez's presence) during an interrogation meeting.  During today's testimony, George told Jose that this photograph of a gas can with duct tape was a different gas can with duct tape than the one he had (the duct tape was bigger).

Jose's questioning of George received a number of sustained objections by the prosecution.  It got so bad that the attorneys went to a sidebar with Judge Perry.   Then Jose continued his questioning of George, and referred to those photographs in his questions to George.  After multiple objections relating to the inadmissibility of these photographs by the prosecution, the judge asked the jury to leave the courtroom. Once the jury left the courtroom, Judge Perry scolded Jose, telling him that he could not refer to a photograph that was not in evidence.  He looked right at Jose and said "How many times do I have to tell...?"  Afterwards, the jury returned and questioning resumed.

CASEY BRAGS ABOUT BEING SUCH A GOOD LIAR...

Prosecutors introduced a young lady Melissa England, who was a former girlfriend of a guy friend of Casey's, who testified how Casey bragged to her about being such a good liar.  She described an event when she was with Casey and Casey was on her cell phone in the car.  Casey told her caller that she could not meet up with them because her car broke down.  When she hung up, she testified that Casey said "I'm such a good liar", and she tossed her cell phone onto the car dashboard.

Several other witnesses were called to the stand by the prosecution, including a friend of Casey's who used to live at the Sawgrass Apartments, which was the complex that Casey pointed out as being the place she last saw Caylee (and where her nanny, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez lived).  All witnesses were asked by the prosecution if Casey told them about Caylee being kidnapped.  All said no.
